Beginner Id?

Can someone identify these fish for me please? I was given them with a 10 gallon tank I bought on craigslist.org.... but I dont know what they are or how best to care for them. Thanks

I usually try to research the fish before I stock a tank, however this was a case of "take the fish or they will be flushed"

They are probably African lake cichlids, try the African cichlid forum, the people there should know.

maybe the yellow one is a yellow lab....

if they are african cichlids you might have a problem because they are going to out grow your tank.

I cant identify em tho.. sorry, as for the yellow one, doesnt look like a lab to me..

Muskateer, u need to do something quick.. they grow somewhat quickly, and in a few weeks you'll be getting some nasty fights.. u need to rehome 2, or all, as even if u keep one, it will outgrow the tank...if you don't do something fast, 2 of them will be killed..

ps. if that plant in the third pic is living, i dont think its aquatic, so u might have to take it out or it'll rot...
