About 4 weeks ago or for those who go to school in the UK which was the first week back after the halth term holiday my guppy gave birth and i was managed to get 5 fry and put them in a bowl. I have the bowl on the window sil so they get light and heat but i dont have a small filter for them and a heater but theres a radiator under the window sil so they get some heat. As this is the first time caring for baby fish what else do i need to care for them? I may go to pets@home tomorrow and i saw a small box filter which i may get and i might get some baby food as im feeding them on tropical fish flakes from aquaian which might have less protein for them :good:

You need to either put the fry back into the main tank using a breeders box/net/trap etc. Or you will need to use some of your main tanks filter media to put in with the fry or they will eventually get ammonia/nitrite poising.

Ive seen a marina 2 in 1 breedding tank in my LFS so i may also get that and i did a 100% water change :good:

I have a floating Marina 2 in 1 breeding tank in my main tank with platy fry in. This way they car in the same water temp and condtions the other fish are also they get a water change as they are in the same tank.

Food i just use normal flake food but crush it in my fingers. I break it down small enough that it will fall down the gaps in the breeding tank into the main tank where the others can eat it or it can be cleaned up on the water changes.

Thank you so much for the info :) today i went to my language school and after that my mum got the similar tank from pets@home made from them which does look like the marina breeding tank you have with the devider and grill and yeah i dont need to worry about looking at the water paremeter in the bowl the fry were in as it would now be the same with them in the main tank :good:
