HI i'am new to the hobby, i have 4 mollies and looking to expaned and need a little advice on what to get next, my tank is approx 60ltr+.The teenagers in the shops are are good at there jobs but lack in proper exeriance please help...

There quite a few possibilities for you, most small community fish will go well with mollies. Tetra's, Rasbora and Corydora are just some possibilities :)

Not correct, very good choice but live plants are by no means essential :) I have 2 very happy and healthy male guppies in a tank with absolutly NO live plants :)

Platys and swordtails may also be a good option.

I can sympathise with you there, I too (well atleast my gf) would like to keep angels but unfortunatly we dont have a large enough tank :) Im afraid you'll have to stick to your guppies, mollies, tetra's etc :)

Angels often grow to 12 inches + tall and so require quite a large tank. If you swapped over to a larger tank, angels would be ok. They're not really difficult fish to keep, just need quite a bit of space.

guppies only need (well not really) live plants is if you want babies. Although same can be said about mollies! its just some where for the fry to hide while they grow up.

i would say 100% to corys, just amke sure you get them in at least 3's. VERY entertaining fish to watch  i have 2 bronze (boring looking, but very active) and two unkown (very pretty, will upload a pic in a bit) corys will also clean the bottom of the tank of any left over food meaning over feeding is almost eliminated :D

neon tetras are an obvious choice, but so pretty. It depends on what your looking for really

Lol, practise what you preach :p different species wont be as happy as single species groups.

He has a point though :) Cory's are great to have in a community.

ah woops, i was told different species would be happy together! ok well as of saturday (day off) i will be getting another bronze and another unknown

(see you never stop learning!!)

Thas cool :) no doubt there fine together but as said, for the happyest fish stick to single species groups :) and yes, were all still learning! I asked these same questions myself a few weeks ago and now im just passing it on :)

Cya

Heres some more learning for you.

It is said that most species of tetras will shoal together quite happily, so you could have 2 neons, 2 cardinals, and 2 rummy-noses, and they would shoal as if a single species. I think it is more true when they have physical similarities, but not 100%.

I'm not sure how many other fish this is true of, but it goes to show that the rule of thumb doesn't always apply.

Very happy you are passing it on! :)

I've noticed they are not staying together but i just assumed it was because the bronze were fully grown and the unkowns were young

anyways a bit off topic but heres the unkown:

ermmm nope doesnt happen with mine  i have about 8 neons, 3 black (just like neon but black) and 2 glow light (the rest died from white spot** :( im getting more at the weekend though :D) and none of the shoal with each other! only in species and tbh not that often!!

**never buy fish from pets at home!

Ive never heard this, ive seen many different species stay in close proximity of each other but never to actively shoal. Ill have to research this :) tis an interesting idea.

*Edit*

Those cory's look alot like my Julii's, maybe a few differences though :) very nice fish!
