I totally get you. I have those days, too. nothing wrong with taking a break every now and then :)

I think the planets must be aligned in the wrong sort of way or it's just 2020 going out with a bang. It's been a tough week here, too. Lost 2 fish and some other nonsense that caused a lot of stress. I'm sure everything will start to look up soon. It's important to give yourself some grace and take a break when you need to. Take care of yourself and know that you can't do everything.

Chores, duties, responsibilities... anamules, rug rats, a spouse to tell you no matter how well you did, it wasn't enough....can get old at times. It's just the universe telling you to relax, do what you can and what you can't tomorrow and the next day will be there waiting. Might wanna rehome the digger so the amazon swords can live. Teach the kids how to feed/water the dog and the rabbit. Have a beer or glass of wine when it's quiet late in the day...

I know all about beer at lol it’s not the kids can’t they are just not interested in it my youngest is but she’s 2 and is more hassle than help lol I used to like my water changes sound mad but it’s interaction and doing something but as of late they are getting to me first time in a year I tested my water before the change to see how little I could get away with changing n I hate doing things half heartedly , probably the time of year for me I think most parents feel useless at Xmas time lol

Fish are a very demanding hobby, and I think it's normal to feel that way every now and then. If it's March and the weather is getting nice and you are feeling optimistic about everything and you still feel down about your fish then maybe it's time to consider a break, but I personally think that November-March is always just a slog. I feel like the holidays exist to make the winter bearable lol but come with their own stressors added. It's just the cyclicity of life I guess.

Hang in there, feel free to do the bare minimum, in spring or when you feel like it pick up the pieces or re-evaluate, but for now just do what needs to be done to get through the next bit in a self-preserving way.

You got this :)

Take a deep breath. This too shall pass...
It’s mad how something you enjoy can be a problem lol I only have a tank so big because I enjoy the whole process but when you can’t be bothered changing 200l of water at minimum is jist a nightmare

on the other hand, you have a tank so big because it is forgiving if you skip a week or two with water changes :)

That’s a good point i keep better parameters in my 500l than I did in my 270l jist by doing the same percentages my pleco loves to pop tho
