Bearded Dragon

Dude u could get a UV/ heat light u can get them in the one thing you know the only prob is u cant use a thermostat with most of them i think u realy need to do ur reaserch

OMG you guys... let me explain something here....

UVA= a heat source... UVA is what tells a beardie the suns out (gives off light and heat, like a basking bulb or a house bulb)
UVB= a light source that sends out UVB rays, its what lets the beardie absorb calcium
Full Spectrum Bulb gives off both UVA and UVB (But are junk in most forms except for Mercury Vapor Bulbs)

If your beardie hasnt died already... let me give you some tips... DO NOT GIVE IT LETTUCE.... lettuce has no nutritional value, its like all water... this will lead to runny stool, which in turn leads to dehydration.. (Romaine lettuce isnt any better) Collard, Mustard, Turnip, and Dandelion greens are a STAPLE veggie.. (Do NOT feed Kale or Spinach, this binds calcium and prevents it from being absorbed) Endive, escarole are also great greens.. (Also do NOT feed carrots, it has a reverse effect from humans, its bad for their eyes) also, add some fruit to the mix... mango, papaya, any berry (strawberry, raspeberry, blueberry, blackberry).... but do NOT feed banana's or any type of citrus fruit..

A baby and juvie beardie should be getting an 80% insect diet to 20% veggie diet, and then reversed when adults...

Without a UVB light your dragon will get MBD (Metabolic Bone disease) and it WILL kill it without vet treatment (which include calcium shots) and may not even live after that... these animals arent toys, so if you cant provide for it, dont get it!

Sorry to rant... but it seems like the poster didnt care much at all, and as an owner of two bearded dragons I see it all too often in other forums..
