I have wanted a lizard for as long as I can remember and my hubby has fallen for a bearded dragon (after dragging him to the LFS) and he has said why not! :hyper: Me trying to be sencible said we have no where to put it and he said unlike a fish tank with no filter humming away we could have it in our bedroom!!, but I think a dragon scratting around at night will drive him nuts  the only other place would be in the conservatory, but I am worried about keeping a vivarium warm in the winter, but we are planning on having some sort of heating out there. I have a LOT of research to do before I go and get one, so any helpful information would be greatly apprecieated, especially with regard to where to site the vivarium and what size is needed for a dragon. Many thanks

hi i keep bearded dragons and u havent gotta worry about them running about at night coz they sleep at night once all their lights are turned off.the min size tank/vivarium u would need for a bearded dragon adult would be 4ft then u give it abit of space to move around in.if i can help u in any way plz email me,thanks

Agreed, but only from what my friend says...she has one, she had it in a 4/2/2 but she insists its to small for her babie, lol babie my behind....

If you want it bad enough you will get one, but make sure you read up on there diet needs and be careful as some things people reccomend for them to eat are actually infact bad, but dont let it put you off, I will source the website i found her with all the helpful infomation....

Hi thanks both, its not like I am rushing out to get one tomorrow  it took me 6 months to finally decided I was ready for an oscar, no doubt it will be next year before I am satisifed personally that I have read up enough about them. The reason why we were considering the conservatory is we have a juwel rio 400 tank we re-sealed ourselves and think rather than more fish, make a lid for it and have a dragon in it. Trouble is in the bedroom I only have just over a 3ft space, which would that be ok for a baby till it grew?

Yes short term, but think you can find some cracking deals on places like gumtree and ebay, they had a 6/2/2 viv the other week on gumtree with a suposed breeding pair of beardies with incubator and all the trimmings..it went for 150pounds...which i thought was a real bargain....

I love lizards, lucky for me when i get to colombia we have some iguana's in our garden so alls good :D

did you ever see my lizard pics which i posted in this section, wilds from colombia?

I think I did see them, I have always wanted an Iguana, but decided against it as I was working long hours, now I work longer hours being a stay at home mum
