I was scraping a wood board that I use when I paint (it gets caked with spray paint) with a utility knife and i managed to scrape a pretty big chunk of my thumb off...almost hit the bone. The peice was still hanging on so i just stuck it back on and put a band aid on in it. It re-attached itself though it kind of looks lumpy.

yep they can. I had to be careful cuz the chunk kept slipping out of place if I used my hand so I can see how stitches could help avoid that.

A cut in that place needs medical attention, ie: can cause lockjaw.

Go get ur self off to get it sorted.
