I read in a betta book that some betta breeders will give BBS to fry as their first food, leaving any that can't eat them to die figuring that it's betta to have ten very fit healthy bettas than 60 or so with most of them being on the weaker end of the scale. Does anyone here do this or tried this, or know of anyone who has?

:dunno: I just found it slightly interesting, like I find it interesting that some people will leave the dads in with the fry after they are free swimming.

lol love the quote at end of ur message about goth people being pale.
being goth myself when i get the chance, when i am not doing mummy things or such things as being dressed goth like would be inapproitate.

See, I'd be the type to dress the baby goth.... Little black hoodie...

Lol, I actually forgot I even posted this...

I'm having serious problems this week.... :X

I left my Delta male in with his fry until their first water change at a week. He was a GREAT dad, didn't eat anyone or harrass them more than he needed to. Unfortunately, I think it may have been a mistake to pull him at all, though I did it for his own good...I thought the water change might upset him and make him eat his babies (I have the worst luck with cannibalistic dads, so I'm paranoid). He died less than a week after I pulled him, from a complete depression at having been separated from his babies.

I haven't started mine right off on BBS, but they start getting it at about one week. This latest batch got it sooner, because I have started to just mix up a cup of food and then distribute between batches, and the two batches I have are only a week apart. So the younger ones started getting BBS about day 3, and the older batch got it at exactly a week. The other half of their feed was rotifers.
