Battlefield 3

well im glad i see some fellow fish lovers playing this awesome game. Im a pretty serious PC gamer, but do own a PS3 and an Xbox, and the PC graphics are amazing, followed by PS3 and then xbox way behind, imo.

Im rank 29 on the PC and im loving it so far. The guns have soo many attachments, the freaking graphics engine is amazing, the lighting is just brilliant. those tac lights actually work!! its pretty incredible imo. i dont care about the single player, and probably will play it only a few times. the multiplayer is where its at.

my 360 GT is : CRZYAirborne
my PS3 GT is : Crazy-Airborne
my PC GT is: CrazyAirborne

BF2 on PC is just so #41#### good. Also the Frostbite 2 Engine is just immense, even the simple things of when you fire you gun and how it transfers the vibrations through the body of the characters, it's so well done considering the scale of the maps as well.

been playing the beta for the last few days, its alright, some nice ideas, sniper glare, flash lights etc. Origin is looking nice even with all the hooha about data access. Never really liked Steam all that much, just a means to an end really. EA never get these releases right, lobby systems are always rubbish, squads not working correctly is annoying when you cant join up with mates, having to hammer one map to death is just mundane for beta testing. I'll buy it eventually, but not rushing out to get it. Will wait for a few patches first i think. League of legends is taking up my game time :) on a side note, i'll never understand people who play FPS games with controllers, i think i'm too old school to ever be able to adjust to them. Dont even own a console

Didn't your mother ever say if you can't think of anything nice to say, say nothing

Tried this on the PS3 last night......very promising indeed!

I've only just about stopped playing BF2 on the PC. Sadly my 5yr old machine wont be up to playing BF3 so looks like I'll have to go to the PS3 version this time round.

Sorry, if that was a response to my post would you care to expand on it? It makes no sense. cheers!

To be fair I was baffled too, I mean I'm a BF3 fanboy already and your post had some pretty fair points. The only thing I would disagree with is the lobby system and squad systems, on BF2, these have always been near perfect and there are a lot of people playing this beta so there are bound to be some bugs, but that's what the beta is about, ironing it out :).

I've never played a COD Demo/Beta, maybe it's because they're not that confident in their games playability and longevity.

tried it out myself today looks better than bbc2 hopefully will be able to carry my ranking over

While i totally agree a beta is just that, nearly every game of the series EA have pushed out to beta has suffered from a really bad lobby system and as i spend a few hours in the evening playing these games with my mates, i'd love to actually test the game as a "clan" might by forming squads. Its highly frustrating when you want to play with a bit of co-ordination instead of having 3 numpties in your squad all sitting at the back sniping and not being able to spawn on someone whos making the effort to plant or defuse etc. :D Thats the kinda angle im coming from.

COD series was amazing until they starting messing about with the sniper in cod 1, single shot kills made for some amazing past paced sniping games. :D

I think BF3 has a lot of potential for both a casual player and clans. Nice to have something new to play anyway, i tihnk i've exhausted every decent game out there :D

They seem to take more care with the Battlefield series, that's all I'm saying :). Not Bad Company, because that has nothing to do with the main Battlefield series.

Me too really, if it wasn't for a few of their good games then I'd be totally against them. I hate their website and their master accounts etc, constantly trying to change things up, they really get me angry.

i think the squad system in bad company 2 was perfect, and i never had much trouble getting on other than the occasional problem. the squad spawn system is so vital to BF gameplay, would be a waste of time in COD as nobody works as a team on that. it is a pain when youre in a squad with people you dont know, but then i generally only go on when im going on with my mates. if they arent on, i probably wont put the game on. just to avoid playing in a squad i dont know. i also like that you get points for people spawning on you. hopefully it will make people realise if they fart about at the back of the map for the whole game, they're missing out on lots of points because nobody wants to spawn on them.

me and my mates sit somewhere between casual players and clans. we do play quite a lot, more than enough to be within the top few spots in every game, but we dont do any of this clan guff, we dont really arrange to go on, just a case of if you turn your xbox on and they're playing, join in. if not, put fifa in.

the only bad thing, in my view, about the BF/BBC franchise is EA.
I have, roughly, 20 20% discount accreditations from them. all to say 'sorry' for EA's ineptitude. I'm with ACE, we could all do without the company attitude.

as for the beta? well I'm rank 15 (i think), just got C4. to be fair though, i am still heading to 50 with my shady tag, on BBC2.
lol, yesterday i ran into a top ranker (50 i think). do these guys do anything but play the beta?
I have questions about the frame rate, at some times. (run on a 20mb down 1.5mb up vermin connection)
I'm still not a fan of the 'prone' as its implemented in the BF beta
I'm not impressed Dice switched off most of the destruction.in this beta is, for the most part, a server test. how you test a server if you dont load it as it will be used?
I'm not to keen on the 'score' graphics. as with BBC2 they are occasionally slightly behind the game play. this means they are in centre screen as you take on the next opponent. I liked the BBC2 graphic, unobtrusive, but there if you want to look.

none of the above change my view on the game.and i enjoy it greatly.

Dice claim the SP/campaign , will take 12 hours. so it seems they are giving value to both play options (mw2 took me just over 4 hours.. and i felt ripped off. mind you , that could just be the game. BBC2 took a tad over 6 hours)
I also intend to complete the campaign before i go online mind you, how long that resolution lasts, is anybody's guess
my guess is clan pressure will drag me on quicker.
