Battery Operated?

I recently had a crisis with a huge power outage where I live. The power was out about a day and a half and it may still go out. (so far I am lucky all my fish have survied I was wondering if there were battery operated heaters for fish tanks and battery operated airation pumps for fish tanks. Because I want to be prepared if in the event this ever occurs again? Also if these items don't exists if there is any way to rig something up that will work in the middle of a crisis?

Heat can last a while if you put blankets around the tank. For the filter though, have you tried a computers UPS?

I haven't, I am thinking about getting some though. When the power went out the other day. I put a ton of blankets over my tank. It stayed at about 71 for a day then the next morning it was at 60. And they said the power could be out as long as 15 days, so I don't even know if my power is going to stay on.

There is another way of geting round this problem.
Buy or build a small generator.
Buying is obviously the easiest way but also more expensive.
To build one though, you could use a small engine out of a lawn mower, strimmer, mini moto... Mount it on a frame with a car alternator running off it using a fan belt. Connect the alternator to a 12V car battery and use those inverters you can buy that plug into your cigarette lighter socket in a car. Converts 12V into 240V (or whatever you use in your country).

You can buy battery powered air pumps, if you keep a cheap box filter laying around, in the event of a power outage just stick you filter media in it and off goes the airpump.

get a bat air pump,hot water bottle(the ones you use in you bed)fill with hot water and put them in your tankit will keep your tank warm 4 a few hours

I was looking into it and discovered that they do not make such a thing at least on the internet. So I got to thinking about it and I think i'm going to get a ACDC power inverter and a car battery, all in all it's cost like $90 (Maybe cheaper i have to check the volts and such to amke sure it'll work with my heater) but since this is the second time this has happened in the last 6 months it would be cheaper than restocking...
