Barracks Setup

Ok so I set up a 150 1/2 Galleon tanks to use as my barracks so I'm looking for someone who is familiar with sumps to gimme a little info.
I know I have to put in a Uv Steriliser and a Pump but I have seen sumps with Pieces of glass in it to make the water go down and up and yeh I was just wondering why also I wanna know what dimention's it will need to be and what size Uv Steriliser I will need.

The baffles are to make the water flow through the different media stages - if you don't have them water can bypass the media & flow straight across.
You need the largest sump you can fit but instead of a glass tank you could use a plastic water tank as used in lofts - these are often used for pond filters.
The UV needs to be rated for volume & flow rate so probably a 120g size. I have a 15w vectron and it would probably suffice. The UV must be aquarium specific as the pond ones are designed to kill akgae rather than pathogens.

Keep us updated on your progress. I have thought of adding a sump to my 40 corner tank that now has frontosa Cichlids in it. I read a little, got bleary eyed and took a break.

Lol yeh once I have everything set up I'll be making logs on my breeding

I was actually talking about my interest in your barracks set up and setting up a sump. I'm not much on following breeding logs at this time--not planning on major breeding and not looking for any new Betta babies.

Ok but it prob wont have any pictures because I cant upload them on this computer. But yeh Im thinking about starting it again because I have everything I need but I wanna build a movable rack to put them on and I am downsizing it to 100 because 150 will be to much to handle
