Bark

I live i in northern Ont. Canada I have a acsess to alot of white birch trees love to make some little caves out of it but dont know if bark is good in the tank any suggestions or info.Thanks,ps I wont cut the bark on the live trees just the ones that are dead.

I am really not sure, but it is not a "hard wood" that means it will probably leach into your aquarium. I have been looking for Canadian Hard wood you can use in an aquarium but never concidered Bark! Good luck.

white birch is a hard wood I have a wood stove and have been working with wood for 30 years my husband does carpenty so I know my wood , just wondered about bark maybe Ill silicon some on a coconut shell and try it in the tank wiyh no fish and take readings.

My bad,, Just use a silicone with no anti mildue agents in it. If i am not mistaken it is the 1. Or better yet aquarium silicone. good luck
