Well, we went to a bootfair (Because Honeythorn said we could get some good tanks - So thankyou!) and i didnt see nothing, got to the end row and the last stall and saw this on someones stall, it was marked at £35 ONO. So i offered £15 (near enough!) and they said yeah! 70ltr tank, stand and lights, all for £15. WOO. Its all set up so im off to Pets at Home / Toys R Us (sand) and to get a heater (Uncles got a filter in his tank that hes getting rid of, its cycled and matured and he was going to dry it out tomorrow when he gives the fish away, he said i can have the filter for it so im off to get that now too. :D!)

Tank measurements: Width: 24inch. Length: 12inches. Height: 15.5 inches.

Im thinking of dividing it down the middle in 2 sections and having a betta in each.. They would get 35.5 ltrs each. Does anyone think ill be able to do it in 3 Sections? and have 3 bettas?

Here are some pictures.

Brilliant bargain! I wanted to go to the bootsales this morning but hubby wouldnt let me booo! I cant believe you got it for £15, fantastic!

hi i noticed in argos yesterday their play sands on offer for 2 pound
regards scot :)

thats well good
and s i think you could divide it into 3 that would still give the 5g each

You jammy bugger! That's an insane bargain!!! It looks immaculate ( I hate you now! I want more tanks I hate my mother dammnit! ) I have to move to Kent immediately. If that's the quality of tanks people are selling for peanuts I want some of that action! :p

That will make a fantastic betta tank. Though I'd be keeping a really nice group of girls in it if it were mine * cue extreme envy *

But what did I tell you eh? It just goes to show, there's absolutely no need for tiny 1 and 2 gallon tanks in an average house/flat/apartment when you can get beauties like this for so little money and divide them up if it takes your fancy, and you save more space and power than if you have individual small tanks.

CeeJay - You could divide it into three, this would give each fish 8 inches in length of swimming space, plus the 15. 5 inches depth and the 12 width, and all three would get the benefit of the full 70 litres.

Personally I wouldn't split it into three. I think it would look far better as a pair of habitats for two really nice males, who would both have plenty of room each. You could also try some peaceful tankmates in each half, like pygmy cories (aim the filter flow down the back wall so it flows down and along the bottom, if you go with pygmies, they like the current I've found )and shrimp.

You could decorate each half differently too.

Thats a bargin! Looks the same as mine.

The bettas will love for sure!

Well, honeythorn if you think thats good - I was passing past a bootfair on the way to my aunties and we decided to stop off. I saw a tank and ran over to it and it was a corner tank, a jewel half hex 90L(?) tank. Asked the man how much and he said it had been at £50 all day, and said as its the end of the day he will do it for a TENNER. YES! A TENNER! It came with STAND, filter, heater, brand new filter pads, lights, ornaments, food, treatments, EVERYTHING! Of course i couldnt get my wallet out quick enough - It needs a good clean but thats what bank holidays are for ;)

Ill get some photos when ive got it in place - the tanks in the garrage and im putting the tank around my room to see where it goes!

I think im going to make it a sorority(sp??) tank and when i get some more money in from work have 2 males in the other tank!

cant believe my luck today - thankyou so much honeythorn!

I asked the man for some history and he had Angels, Parrot fish and some other fish in it in the past! :)

Oh my gods I hate you even more now!

That does it. I'm bloody well moving down to Kent ASAP!

You could have quite a large soroity in a 90L I'd go with at least 10 girls. I want pictures of this tank !

Your wish is my command!
