Hi All,

After much deliberating, I think its about time I've shared some pictures of my tank in here. I've bought a used Rio 240 about a month ago from local classifieds. I thought its a bit of a challenge as its a big step up from what I have currently at that time, a 20l and a 60l. All comments and feedback always welcome. Thanks.

You have some very good growth there. I like the plant choices and the growth looks vigorous and healthy.

What are you plans for the rescape, now that you seem to have growing plants under control? :good:

Very nice

What are you using to grow the moss on at the front? Some home-made sheeting with holes punched into it?

Thanks. I use some kind of chips tray thats used to dry off excess oil after cooking. i found it in a local homeware shop.

Thanks llj. I'm thinking of changing to small cichlid setups (i.e. rams, kribs, labs, etc) but not sure whether i could have as much plants with that... something to learn i guess! but it would be less 'jungly' as well

wow very.....vibrant!!!
looks like heaven for the fish

Maybe ask Truck? He's into planted tanks and Rams I assume from his avatar

The small cichlids, especially rams and kribs, wouldn't be a problem, though any of them would appreciate some bare patches to dig around in. Rams, go South American. Kribs would love an African-style setup. Both would be very interesting planted tanks. Both could use elements from the current setup. I used to breed kribs, so I fancy them. I had a great pair who were fantastic parents.

Thanks for the tips... I really like the coour of the Kribs and Rams, so good to know that they are compatible too!

Update: saw a few strands of hair algae :( So, I'm going to cut down on the light from 10 to 8 hours... Hopefully that will work.

Careful, I didn't say that kribs and rams are compatible with each other, only that each species was compatible with planted tanks. Sorry for the confusion.

Eh, shoot for about 6-7 hours.
