Barb Acting Strange

hi please can any one shed any light on this. my 4 green tiger barbs evey now and again swim with the noses down and tails up. please do you have any ideas
 
this is normal behaviour for them
they are displaying to each other

Yes this is fairly normal behaviour (in my experience.) However if they're doing it ALL the time check your nitrIte levels as they apparently show this behaviour if there are uncomfortably high nitrite levels in the water.

Also can happen if they're stressed in a tank which is too small for them (so I'm told...)

Also...(so many also's...) they tend to sleep in this position!

I wouldn't worry too much. Only a big problem if they're pointing down and swimming like mad, in which case it could be a swim bladder problem. But I doubt that... :rolleyes:

thanks for that. ill test my nitrite levels but im pritty shior there normal.

i was just worred aboult them and if there was something worng id have some chance of fixing it.

they seem happy enuf now.. ones of thems a bit of a bully but thats norm for the breed

Yep, there's always one trouble maker! Although Tigers can be pretty cowardly as well. Mine are always posturing and showing off but run like hell when my neons or platies approach!
