OK, so one of my LFS's has a fish labelled 'Sucker fish', but to me it looks like a Banjo catfish. Its head is quite wide, when it skims the glass and stuff, you can see its pectorals out like wings, and on its sides and back, from the head to the caudal peduncle, there are little spines. Is this a Banjo, and if it is, should I get it? I will do some reading on them, but I want to know if this sounds like a Banjo.

they do look similiar. Is it possible that what u see is a color morph or something of a raphael

just wondering. There are striped ones. They are also known as chocolate catfish so i thought there might be a color morph

Judging by the pics here, I think it is a Raphael cat. Does anyone here have any experience with these? I guess I will Google these as well! :D

They eat carnivore pellets, and will almost never come out in daylight (or tanklight for that matter :) I think of them as extra ammonia build-up  I've heard that they won't be as timid if they are kept in groups of three, but having no experience with trying three I honestly do not know :p They will eat small fish and get from 6-8 inches in length :D

I don't know, I usually don't keep cories with any fish over 5", but that's just me :p I know plenty of people who have them though, stingraykid, the minions, and samsung401 off the top of my head, you could probably ask them for some help :)

No they won't eat cories and the striped rapheal are usually a brown colour but there is also a marbled version. But as dwarfs pointed out you won't see much of them but you might hear them grunt as they are also known as the talking catfish!
