Bandit Corys

I have a 30 uk gal tank in which I plan to keep 2 angels probably and 5 ish zebra danios.

I would like some bandits. Will they be OK with the other fish?

I know they like to be in groups, so how many would you suggest for this tank?

What special requirements do they have?

Do they need lots of hiding places or one big one for them all?

In fact...anything I should know would be greatly appreciated

I am waiting for the tank to cycle so I won't be getting any for at least the next month which gives me time to make sure the tank is perfect for them

Bandits will be fine for your tank and i'd reccomend a minimum of 6 although more would be fine (Perhaps around 8 in that size tank)

I've kept a few bandits before and they are nice corys but a little shy

I would really like some bandits so I think I'll go for 8 with just the 2 angels so I don't overstock the tank.

I just have to find some that ask me to take them home now Well...in a week of two anyway

Angels are large cichlids that can often become aggressive with small fish. I do not recommend keeping corydoras with them at all. Corys do best either alone, or in a peaceful community tank.

As you are in North Wales you are not tool far from Wigan and I know that Pier Aq that some C. metae (Bandits) in stock at the moment, well they had on Monday.

I'm not disputing what you are saying Inchworm, I was just interested to know as to whether you mean adult Angels would not be compatible. I have 2 juveniles kept with 10 corys, Bronzes and Pandas and they don't bother them in the slightest??

I was going to say - never heard that one before - I've got 5 angels in my big tank, there were originally seven in there - and several cories, and my angels have never even bothered them, let alone harrassed or hurt them! I dont think they know they're even there *lol* They've been together over a year now!

That's a new one on me Inchworm, a bit OTT perhaps....

New one on me too - I've always kept angels and cories together, not once have I had a problem or even heard of that advice before.
