Bamboo or spider plants in aquariums

I dont have bamboo or spider plants in my tank, but it just came to mind as bamboo thrive in just water and i have spider plants that just keep reproducing and it would be nice to save money. Any thoughts on if it would work?

i grow bambo in my pond out side and it is about 2 feet deep. But the bambo comes out of the water. Might work might look realy cool on a tank with no top. Donno about the spider plants. i got one of those but its in a pot with soil hanging over my couch.

Well how perfect is that! I have 3 bamboo plants at home plus a tank without a top. Thanx for the info Globel, hopefully my fish will enjoy it.
