Bala Shark & Black Shark Question.

Sure, I can post a picture of him:)

This one is a good pic to really get a good idea how big he is because there is anohter tankmate in front of him.

I've seen black sharks with cichlids at the lfs.. The black shark was about 15'' long, the cichlids were all about 10-12''..

Tank was at least 6 feet long..

If you start off with a small black shark and a small cichlid or 2 they might grow together happily.. but there is always a chance they will get more aggressive as they get older.

My tank is 6.5 feet long, most of my cichlids are very big. The Black Shark should enter the mix with no problems, of course there is always a chance of agression, thus are the risks of fishkeeping. The only concern that I have is that the BS might try and kill the RTBS as these fish dont mix well, if that starts happening I have a place to rehome the RTBS.

A few vids to show you what size black sharks get to and how aggressive they are.

Wow that thing is a beast!! Should look great in my tank, cant wait to get him! Not sure how big that tank is that he is in, looks like maybe a 75G, looks pretty small for a BS and all those tinfoil barbs and bala sharks...

Its a 180gal(US) tank and the shark is 22"

Well maybe its a 180L tank or maybe he is wrong about its size, black shark or not, that does not look like a 180G tank. Not even close.

Assuming the fish is the size it is claimed (and I don't doubt that after seeing the hand for comparison on the first vid) then I would say that is a 6x2x2.

You have to remember there are some pretty big fish in there, so the tank will look smaller without an external reference. Watch the first vid again and you will see a hand go up against the black shark to get a sense of scale.
