I agree with fatbobsufc {what the heck does that name stand for?}

The "fatbob" part is a reference to my favourite character from an English comedy programme called "Paul Calf's Video Diaries" and the "sufc" stands for "Sheffield United Football Club" which is the team I support (see my avtar).

I think the English forum members would have worked it out but I wouldn't have expected someone from the US to recognise the references. But now you know!

Andy~ there's no reason to consider a name change, no one is holding it against you or anything. Of course I got upset because I bend over backwards picking up sickly betta at chain stores and trying my best to give them a happy life. And with it being a forum OF COURSE I'm going to voice my opinion (without name calling or insults, I just hope everybody can do the same)

thanks aquamanis, the name change thought was a knee jerk reaction to some of the comments; i am sure some people can relate to that

but i am here, proud family man that i am (thanks fatbob), and hope to spend many happy hours surfing and gathering and sharing information about our fish - which basically is what i did the other day.

please dont let any of this degrade into a name calling thread.

i appreciate everone's comments - some have been kinder and more understanding than others - but i wont be holding it against anyone; just as i hope you guys wont be holding this sorry incident against me

as it happens my new fish are doing well - all water levels are still perfect
Ammonia=0
Nitrate=just over zero (think it was 10mg/l)
Nitrite=0
pH=6-7

Andy, you know you did what was right for you so forget about all the negative comments. If you learned anything, don't post anything that will upset the forums...unless of course you did it for a chuckle??? I especially like the comparison between killing a fish to the death penalty....which being from Texas...oh never mind, wrong forum 8)

WMB, when I wrote the first post I did it as a lighthearted "dig" at the people who had a "dig" at andy for putting the fish down. I can,t see any difference. Ethics was the subject, I didn,t bring it up. No insults were intended. I didn,t get upset, actually I was laughing because I found it funny that other people were getting upset about a fish that someone else owned. Again I apologise if I upset anybody.

Why you having a dig at other? And who's having a dig at andy? He's asked for opinions (seeing as he posted in the first place) and therfore got them (no matter how harsh they are).
