Background Paint

Would it be ok to paint the back of my tank with acrylic/poster paint I can't see why not but I wanted to ask you experts

Yeah, an acryllic or latex based paint is the way to go. Just make sure the paint is waterproof when dry

Exactly. Sorry if I confused the issue, but you want a water based paint that upon drying is waterproof. Latex and acryllic. Do NOT use oil based laquers!
