As many know, I started rebuilding my 55G tank back in April and decided to go with Neon Tetras and cories. Started out great but my first batch of neon tetras came down with ich. The fight to rid the ich took over 5 weeks. Meanwhile, I have had additional cories and neons waiting in QT tanks to join the community. I have 4 tanks of fish waiting. I lost all of my plants due to heat/salt treatment (should have moved them). Currently have some new plants in QT and waiting for others to arrive. Tank has been completely ich free for a week now. I have begun slowly lowering the temp and hopefully I will be able to start moving some of the fish in QT into the community tank within the next few days. I want to add them in small batches to keep the stress level down and prevent any further outbreaks of ich. Everyone is being well fed with garlic currently to build up their immune systems and prepare them for the move. Hopefully, in a couple of weeks, I will finally be able to show you my completed neon/Cory tank. Fingers crossed.
