After two days of fasting, Alfie decided he still only wanted his freeze dried brine shrimp. He didn't want any of the 5456453232565 types of food I tried

Once again, I told him he would get flushed if he didn't eat something other than fdbs; and once again he just flared at me

So today he is back on a fast. This is going to be a test of wills. I shall prevail this time

Oh...and is 3 days too long to fast? The two day fast didn't work...so I might have to resort to drastic measures :shifty:

3 days worked for me with Kai :) Even 5 days may be needed, tho like you after two I start to feel bad...

dont look him in the eyes, you will fold like a cheap pack of cards, stay strong if you can.
Goodluck :)

SoCalMom... have you tried the frozen/thawed bloodworms or brine shrimp? It's rare for bettas to turn their noses up at the frozen ones. B/w's are VERY healthy for them... (not the freeze-dried ones but the frozen/thawed live ones - brine shrimp isn't as nutritious but suitable for a couple of feedings/week.) When I offer the frozen/thawed b/w's to my bettas... they get all excited like they're about to feast on a steak dinner. BUT... it's hard to resist their wiggle dances for more than a couple, but if you give in... you'll be dealing with fasting/constipation/swim bladder issues...
