Babys!

ok then wat wud u reccommend to put in the 15 gallon?

ok first get the tank then ask however you will have more options then and i think though i am not totally sure that the fish you have will be fine in there

Yeah, i am sorry to have to have my shout in this but, i totally agree with Mark.
In fact, thank God someone finally had more guts than i did to speak out.

Do not get me wrong tetra-man, i have made my fair few mistakes when starting out, but boy did i listen to advice when i heard. Especially when i heard advice coming from so many knowledgeable people.

Now your 6 gallon is not totally useless, do not feel pressured into buying a bigger tank that you can not afford or have room for.
What people are saying is, you need to buck your ideas up, start listening to advice and acting on that advice. (Also, on a personal note try dropping the ‘slang / txt talk’, it tends to get on some peoples nerves).
I noticed some weeks ago that you are the kind of person that only listens to the kind of advice he wants to hear. And that is why you keep making the same topics over and over again. Because you are hoping someone will just give in and say what you want them to say.

Listen up Tetra-man, because i am going to summarise what everyone has said so far:

Firstly your tank has not finished cycling yet! Nearly any fish you add in there will either die or be severely damaged! So put any fish you have in that 6 gallon into a cycled tank!
Cycling takes 4-6 weeks (sometimes 7 or 8 if something goes wrong). I suggest you do your own research on the internet about cycling.

Secondly, do not feel pressured into getting a bigger tank. But you need to accept your tank size will only allow for a few fish to live happily.
Personally, i would recommend the following:
A betta, and then maybe add 2 or 3 African Dwarf Frogs. Or replace the African dwarf frogs with ghost shrimps. Some people may recommend 6 SMALL tetra or 5 DWARF corys (as long as your filtration is good, and you do regular water changes). Maybe 3 guppys and some ghost shrimp.

Stop with the freeking stocking questions. Yes people are here to help, and yes people do not mind recommending fish, but one topic is enough.

So now you need to decide, are you going to keep the 6 gallon and have to settle for a few fish, or are you going to get a bigger tank to fulfil your desires?

If i can close this little 'argument' up, i would say this, do your own research via google, and then use this forum for further questions once you have done enough research. And ACT and ACCEPT what the research and people tell you.

Very well said gold tetraman im sorry if it seems like everyone is ganging up on you but that isnt the case they are trying to help you and your fish I have an aqua 40 myself but only use it to bring on a few fry that survive in my 35g. Think i have about 6 tiny platies in there at the moment until they reach a size where they wont be eaten so if you do get a 15g and you have livebearers your aqua 40 will come in very useful. Plus they are a nice little tank mine is fairly heavly planted with live plants which seem to do rather well in there why not plant yours if you havent alredy looks cool anyway good luck in whatever you decide let us know

P.S mark think you were a little harsh lay off a bit he was only asking like bloo said dont read it if it annoys you :good:

Yeah, i am sorry to have to have my shout in this but, i totally agree with Mark.
In fact, thank God someone finally had more guts than i did to speak out.
Gold, you're absolutely right by what you've said in the rest of your post. But this I disagree with. When I said "that wasn't very nice" - I meant that there are ways and means of bringing a point of view across. Shouting at someone (who clearly struggles accepting advice), really isn't going to help or bring the point across. And honestly (as said) if someone's posts drives you up the wall that much, simply do not read it. Constructive criticism helps - derogatory comments do not.

Okay that is fair enough Bloo.
And i did read your post before i made mine.

It is just, you can only really tell someone so many times before raising your tone (as we all know i am sure). And sometimes to be harsh is to be loving, if that makes sense. I think Mark only raised his tone to try and drum the message into tetra-man's head once and for all.

But i do agree, okay maybe a more 'constructivily soft' approach would have been more preferable in peoples eyes. But still, i am sure you can see where Mark is coming from.
While as for 'if someone's posts drives you up the wall that much, simply do not read it'; surely we should not have to be made to ignore posts. And i think it is that presence of having to ignore that eventually wears down and persuades members to leave the forums.

But we are going of topic now, regardless i do agree with your Bloo.
I await tetra-man's responce.

Gold nobody is being forced to ignore anyones post if the person posting annoys you or mark or whoever just dont read it simple nobody is forcing you

The reason i went off my head is because as people say they keep repeating them selves and being blunt and to the point gets my point across and im not sorry for what i said due to the face that for over a month myself and other people have given advise and it has been ignored so really wasted my time.

Anyway, there is little point continuing this back and forth argument.
Mark does not have to be sorry, but people do not have to read topics by people that annoy them. I think that rounds that up, fair-enough?
I think everyone has said what they want to say, and hopefully (god pray) tetra-man has finally got the message.

Lets just hear what tetra-man has to say.

Tetra-Man.

Why dont you start a planted tank? Have lots of plants, CO2 and fert with a nice light. And have a betta or 5 neons. (dunno bout neons, they may be overstocking)

Bear in mind, have a stocked tank first.

BTW: Your tank surface area is Length x Width... im doubting its 9.9"

Indeed, make a betta at the aquarium store very very happy.
Or i recon, if the tank was heavily planted and has good filtration, you could get away with 6 neons...once the tank is cycled.

However, as we all have been saying, research and take in this advice!

And what has happened to you 'fry', the reason for this topic in the first place?

Im guessing those were zebra danio fry...

Yeah, alot of plants will help remove nitrates. I also think some malasian trumpet snails would help with filteration and can add some variation too your tank. along with a group of tetras. youll have alot too look at.

well.......what can i say

Qays it is 9.9 inches iv even measured, and im basing my stocking on the surface area not 1 inch per gallon rule, iv read an article and it says u can have as many inches of fish as your surface area...in my case 9.9inches, so im either getting:

- 2 schwartz corys --> 4 inches
- 4 head and tail light tetras --> 6 inches
(i know ever1 will probably disagree with this but hey)

or

- 1 male betta
- 3 schwartz corys

(bearing in mind i already have the 2 corys in my tank)

...so u say zebra danio fry hey, how come they all died? :S

because they got eaten or couldnt cope with the ammonia or nitrites in your tank as its still cycling.

I think you could go with the betta choice. The cories should be Ok if they have enough swiming space.
