when I was behind the tanks, feeding this morning, Mrs. thinks she saw a baby in one of the rock piles in this tank, said it was like 1/4 inch long, and striped like a panda, of coarse we didn't see it when I came around to the front, and there is such a variety of hillstream's in the tank, positively identifying would be tough, at that size... maybe someone is liking the added water changes

I personally think she saw the tail of one of the smaller fish, as that little panda loach and a couple smaller variety hillstream's were in the rocks... but she is sure of what she saw, and anything is possible...

My sewellia fry don't show up until they're ~1/4 inch or so. & yes, my husband was the first to spot 1 of the very first 1s. If that's what it is, they grow incredibly slowly. I have heard of panda garras breeding in tanks too. I'd love to see pics when you can!

I looked for my old blurry pics of my sewellia fry, no wonder I don't post pics even when I take them lol. By the time they're enlarged enough to see they're even worse. But they do look like tiny panda garras when small. They are more banded like garras & don't have the long rounded fins yet. They look much less "flattened" than adults too. Gradually the pattern gets finer & fins longer. Mine are ~1/2 inch when then hang on the front glass with the other sizes especially at night.

I've seen panda hillstream fry, they are black & white wide banded, not more brown & tan until adult. Not unattractive but not the spectacular look of the young 1s. I'm sure Mrs Magnum would have squealed in delight, I would have, there's no mistaking them! But any fry are worth a happy dance

no new baby sightings, but the little panda loach was out and about...
