I found some baby shrimps in my CRS tank, there are also some humble bee shrimps in the same tank. And i found the pregant humblebee as well.

However, the baby looks a few days old already, because the size is bigger than new born cherry shrimp.

and they look exactly like cherry baby who begins to show color, the kinda very light red color. As i read, crs baby must have white part as their parents, but they just light red,or these are baby of humblebee? but they do not black part neither

If its red at all then it must be a crs, they do have white also when they are born but it can be quite faint, the white tends to be more visible in the band around the eyes. The bumblebee babies are either mainly brown or black they can look a little orange/brown when they ar new born. But as the shrimplet has red chances are its a crs baby, which is good news for you.

Congratulations, whatever shrimp babies they turn out to be :D I'm so envious :)

 i do not mind wot kinda babies they turn to

BTW, do i need to cover the filter ? i read it should be covered, otherwise the babies will be sucked in. However, others say shrimplets can live inside the filter as well? so should i cover it or not?

I personally would cover the intake with filter sponge or prefilter sponge. It gives your tank additional filtration and also the baby shrimps can eat microfood growing on the sponge ;)

I so miss having my shrimp tank

I covered my filter intake with the mesh from and old net to stop my baby crayfish disappearing. It works fine and they crawl all over it picking off bits of food.
They also seem to like living in the mesh as it gives them some cover. :good:

what happened to your shrimp tank?

what happened to your shrimp tank?

Oh, it was a disaster a few months back. The filter broke and I took the chance to upgrade the filter (using all the old filter media + new) and everything went down hill from there. I lost all my shrimps (cherries and some other ones) in that little tank :-( :-( . No idea what happened. Bought a few cherry shrimps quite a number of weeks after setting up the new filter but they all died too. Not sure whether there was problem with new filter or my tank going through a mini-cycle. Stats showed good though :/ Never mind....

And now.... I have to keep the tank for my baby Dwarf Puffers. They are still breeding and growing. Can't wait for them to stop

sorry to hear that. It is quite strange, maybe you need to wait a little longer? the new tank i set up for CRS only cycled 3 weeks, it seems fine. But i did use the old gravel. If you live close, i could give you some baby cherry, everytime i change water, some baby will be sucked out in the water, mixed with dirt, although i try my best to get them back, but always some was left, i fed up at last and dump them in sink.

BTW, i found one bumblebee shrimp died yesterday, after molt, or wotever, i found bumblebee seems the most sensitive shrimp now. i had 10 before, now only 3 left.

The difficulty of keeping them , base on my experience is bumblebee> CRS> cheery> amaon shrimp

There are more and more baby born in my CRS tank, there are two kinds. One kind even very tiny, you can see the white and red part, exactly like the adult CRS. The other kind, even size are bigger now, just transprent with light red, looks like baby cherry, are they baby bumblebee? the adult CRS and bumblebee do kept with cherry before, but not now, and i think they can not cross, thus the baby can not be cherry. But they do not like bumblebee at all

They must be bumblebee shrimplets, no the cherry cant crossbreed with them, some bumblebee babies are light brown so it can look orange or almost red under some lights.
Congrats on the shrimplets
:good:

The new filter (with old filter media + new) had been running for many weeks before I got the new shrimps so not sure what it was that killed them :/

Thanks for your kind offer on baby cherry shrimps. Unfortunately, I don't have the option of having a shrimp tank at the moment :(

Bumble bee and Crystal Red shrimps prefer slightly acidic and softer water and they are in general more sensitive than cherry shrimps and Amanos. How do you keep your Bumble Bees and Crystal Reds?? I think the new born babies are slightly more adaptable to new water conditions so good luck with the babies :D I'm so jealous ;)

Liam:
Could you post some pictures/illustrations of your various types of baby shrimps? :D

BTW, Liam, if the bumblebee shrimplets are light brown ? will they have black part or deep brown part later? because their partents normally look like bumble bee
