Aaaw, those are just beautiful babies. Love the pics, gorgeous adults too.

They hatched in a community tank so I only managed to save 20 ish into the nursery I got about 3 fry which are very much paler than the rest but I don't think they're going to be Albino as the eyes are black I'm quite looking forward to seeing how they turn out.......Dad did a marvellous job, effectively saw off sharks and everything.

As far as I am aware the parents merrily leave fry alone once hatched, but this is my first batch so I could be wrong..?

I've never bred BN's but I understand they make excellent parents and don't eat the fry. :)

My adults haven't eaten any of the fry though they aren't too shy about taking the cucumber from them to eat for themselves. The fry are ravenous. I have to replace pieces of cucumber every day or two. I can leave it over night and come back to just the outer skin or tougher fiborous parts left.

Ok, ok, I'm being incredibly pedantic here.... but how can cucmber be the "magical fruit" when it's a vegetable??? :dunno: :dunno:

Anyways, enuff of me being silly - they really are beauties!

If the fry still have their egg sack intact then the adults may well see them as food, however once the egg sack has disappeared then the adults no longer see them as food.
