Apparently during the day while I was at work yesterday, my female guppy gave birth (so sorry I missed it). I'm not sure how many babies she had because she wasnt that big and I was forced to put her back into the community tank since she wasnt happy in the breeder. I found 4 babies which I've moved to the breeder floating in the tank, 3 last night and 1 this morning. I've fed them powdered flakes but didnt see them eat. I'm so happy to save the 4 but so sad that I dont know if my platys ate the others :-(. This is my first batch of babies. How long do they take to reach a good size to put back into the tank? Whats the best food to feed them?

a long time, lol. I have one that is just about 8 months, and he is still sto tiny to put in with other fish. But his sisters were full size in 5 months. But usually Guppies are so inbreed that they die with in that time.

I feed my fry that first dites by Hikari, they love it. And they did grow faster when they ate it.

To make them hrow faster give them a 5 gallon tank after like 1-2 months and put in a heater with high watts. Put it in the 80's and do daily waterchanges feeding them live food.

Im have ONE baby platy (the rest must have been eaten), and i feed her freeze dried brine shrimp, she loves it because it breaks apart in tiny pieces but as she is only about 1/2 inch big (max) she only needs a pin head of food and i feed her twice a day. Im also using that food to keep the hopsital tank (what she is in) cycled because one tiny baby platy couldnt do it, bless.
Good luck with your fry :D
