last night i was nosing in the tank for a good time as i was trying to feed my pleco carrot (apparently they love it - mine dont ???? )

anyways, when i woke this morning, i found these two sweeties...

i did NOT see these last night!!

but, they look like they have been in there a while, as they arent tiny eyes with tails!

theyre still only 4-5mm, but are getting their colours. definately not platy fry, but dunno how old they are

still chuffed mind, especially as i only have 2 young female guppies in there, which actually look pregnant again :|

Congrats on your fry, they're cute, :good:

I reckon they must be a few weeks old

thats what i thought, theyre not THAT shy either. they do bob in and out of the plants, but they stay reasonably out now

Now that you have a mix of sizes in your tank, you will probably find more fry all the time. I find that once I have a few surviving fry, the adults become less likely to bother chasing new fry because they have learned from the older fry that it is useless to do so. That means a higher and higher survival percentage with each new drop until the sheer numbers in the tank make the new fry too easy to catch. Of course, if you are one who traps females, you will never see this change take place.

nah dont trap em. survival of the fittest. i had a few babies before, 4 survived, but i lost the moms, this drop is from one of the surviving babies....
