Well, my Mandarin has officially gone down hill. My Black and White Percula Clown has recently become rather aggressive towards my poor Mandarin....moments ago the Clown squashed the Mandarin between itself and the glass...and it is constantly headbutting it.
Im rather upset as it was a lovely fish and i did well keeping it, getting it onto frozen foods etc. Its in bad condition atm...its fins are nipped and its just lying there :( This isnt the first time this has happened to me with Mandarin's and Clown's...my Pair of Percuals absolutely went mental within seconds of adding a Mandarin to there tank...whereas my Black and White Clown has been living with it for 6 months now.

The only thing i can say positively is that i shall buy a spotted mandarin for the New Seahorse tank when it is fairly mature..and i wont be transferring the Clown over with the Seahorse's. She is fine with the SH's strangely...

So yeah...they arent all as cute as they may seem!!!!

Unfortuanlly i had a similar incednet with my Clowns and my Prawn Goby (unfortunatly ex Goby) for about a year the Goby happily lived with them and often he hid under the mantle of the anemone with out incedent but one day my Clowns took a disliking to him and turned on him unfortunaly the results of being harrased by two clowns was to much a didn't survive despite my efforts to break them up and segregate the goby to allow him to recover....unfortunatly animals do the strangest of things....and sometimes nothing we can do to stop it.

It usually occurs when the clownfish mature. Often it can take months for a clownfish to become sexually mature and even when they have matured they don't always become aggressive until they want to breed. Then one day they get the urge and go kick hell out of every one else.

I think your right the Colin!
Sadly she didnt make it :S But, i purchased a Spotted Mandarin today! You should have seen it in the LFS gulping down the live brine shrimp! She actually swam up and ate the live brine shrimp while it was swimming about in open water..my old Mandarin never did this and i have never seen any other mandarin do it.
Its in a breeding net in the tank atm, with a piece of LR and tonnes of enrichened brine shrimp. It has a nicely filled stomach and is very active. I'll be keeping it in the net until its eating frozen mysis, which im determined that it will.
Ill hopefully be moving the Seahorse's over to their new tank at the end of this week, when my dad orders my caulerpa off ebay for me! A week or two later, ill move the Mandarin and is breeding net over and keep trying to get it onto Frozen Mysis.
I'll be taking the Clown to my LFS this week
