I just lost my 29 gallon tank. It was old and has been moved several times. The stress on the tank finally gave in. It developed a huge crack in the bottom and started dumping water at 1:30 in the morning. On the way to the bathroom, I heard water running, and went to see what it was. Well.... I think you can probably guess what happened. The next day I picked up a 55 gallon. I put my established plants in the new tank and planted a few more that have not budded yet. My already small castles are completely dwarfed in this tank. I've only had the tank a week and a half, so I haven't had the chance to build it up yet.

I thought a far away picture would help with perspective.

Ah... thank you guys. Having this big of a tank is been a big deal to me. I'm having fun deciding how I want to decorate it. I just love watching them. Its such a stress reducer.

Sorry to hear about your last tank, good excuse for a bigger one though lol. Looking good, the gouramis are lovely. :good:

exactly the thought in my head (((Matty P)))). My husband and I've wanted a 55 gallon for so long now, but that one space is really the only space that either a 55 gallon or 29 gallon would fit in. So the 29 gallon would have been a waste if I would have just replaced it. This way I had a reason to replace it. Besides the heater and lid and filter unit were old. There has been advancement in the last 15 years since that tank was bought.

Edit ~ I should say that I have had fish for a long time, but this forum has been a serious eye opener. I'm by no means an expert on fish care.

lovely tank! you'll get square eyes sitting that close to the TV tho! lol

OMG, I love those game chairs. You can't play Need for Speed on the couch, its too far away. LOL! Thanks for the compliment on the tank. I'm loving it. I actually sit in those chairs and just watch the fish communicate with each other and chase each other. I love it!
