i just got the azoo palm filter and tis wonderful! for $6, i thought the flow would be too slow asnd it would just be crappy ingeneral...but its not! its an amazing filter! (its on my 5gal with bb gobies and baby flounders). i actually think it would be too strong for a betta though  unless it was in a 10 gal maybe?
ive heard good things about the filter so i have alwyas recommended it as a small filter for bettas but now...im not so sure...i had to raise the water level on my tank to about 3/4 an inch below the fall to make it less turbulent. it takes up less space than my little whisper that came with the system and i like how the intake (andthe whole filter) is clear. (my gobies used to hang on the sides of the whisper where i couldnt see them sometimes)
i bought replacement filter pads but i think it was a waste because theyre just regular foam and poly fiber. anyways-you could probably wash them off many times before discarding them. i thought the cartridges would have carbon but they are just little foam pads. so-no chemical filtration. i might try a little mesh bag of carbon in there though.

i just wanted to share about my new filter and how great it is...but not for bettas :(

i think mine is great for bettas, mine has a control nozel so i put it on really slow and its perfect for him. :dunno:

i dont see why they dont. i would think many people would buy them for their smaller aquariums.
but then again-i have never seen anything azoo brand in a store...maybe they dont sell to pet stores.

where is the nozzle? i could find any way to regulate the flow.
i dont know ours might be alittle different but mines on the top.

how do you lower the flow? the knob on the top (that adjusts the flow for most filters) doesnt turn on mine
i did notice on the box though that there were 2 different pictures-one of a clear filter (the one i have) and one of a black one.

ok i feel stupid. the knob on mine that i thought didnt turn, actually does-it was just stuck on something. so i take back saying that it cant be used for bettas. it can-just on the lowest flow level. mine was set on the highest. :*)
