Axelrodi? Id Please

got 4 corys today all meant to be axelrodi but i think 1 is an axelrodi and the other 3 are different - they are all just over !" in length

Not C. axelrodi. That is CW021. Other looks like C. delphax. - Frank

There is a big difference between them, how have you bought them as the same spieces?

The bottom 2 look very close too what I had "Corydoras leucomelas" But im no expert.

I think there is alot of inbreeding too, which doesn't help.

C. delphax are nice looking corys. I know the picture doesn't do them justice. Give yours a little while to get settled in and they will be very pretty.

The CW021 is very attractive too. Will you try to get a few more of them?

I was in my wheelchair at the time and asked for 4 axelrodi corys , they were shown to me quickly and then put in the bags , i just didnt think to check until i got home and then seen they were different
they are so cute i couldn't take them back - just wont be going to that lfs again - not one i've used before and i'm not happy that they diddled a woman in a wheelchair
I've now got to see if i can get some more of them in the future even though all 4 are happily swimming around together , i do like to have more than 1 of each species - and dont buy them that way -
i have 1 sterbai and 1 hasbrosus - but i didnt get them from lfs and am looking for mates for them so now going to have to look for friends for these aswell

they cost £5 each dont know if thats a good price

will definatelytry and get some more - now i know what i'm looking for the only reason i would go back to that lfs is to get a couple more of them , and check this time that they are them - even though they will still have them as axelrodi's
they are only tiny at the moment and really really cute , be nice to see what they develope like

i've rang the lfs and they got 2 left and are going to keep them for me - i made sure i didnt tell them they weren't the axelrodi incase they wanted to charge more

I suspect that the mix up was probably due to having a salesperson working there who couldn't tell one fish from the other. But, you have every right to look at and select any fish you buy, before it's put into a bag. Since you can't see them in the tank and pick out the ones you like, at least have them put them into a plastic specimen container first. Then you can inspect them yourself and reject any that appear weak or deformed. Many people don't realize they can request this.

The CW021 are nicely marked too. Isn't it fun to have a fish that's quite unusual?

Thats what maidenhead in teignmouth do for me , anyfish i can see in the tank they catch a few in a 2"x2" x 3" container and let me choose the ones i want , they are so good there .
I wouldn't be going back to the other one , i just want the corys lol
