Hey yo wudup.

O.k, my fish are starting to die. I want to take them out of the tank but my mom doesn't give a rats a** about them. Thus, there is nothing I can do. Remember, she thinks that aquariums suck, and that if I wanted a fish, I should've just gotten a fish bowl.

All i can do is frequent water changes and keep putting meds in. One fish has developed fin rot, and like I said, my mom doesn't give a rats a**. Another one died. This is bad, very bad. However, my mom thinks I can put 15 goldfish in the tank. I told her 5 gallons per goldfish. (thats what I heard here) She said thats bull. She said you all are wrong, she knows how to take care of fish better then you and that you spend too much time doing stuff that is completely unnessecary.

Yes, I am aware she has seriouse issues.

Well, I GUESS you can ask others about things also, but Remember, I was about the first person EVER to arrive at this forum, and these people would NOT have the fine aquariums they have right now if it wasn't for me, Commanderdoom21 the first.

Dude based on what's copied above from one of your other posts......seems like you would have all the answers. :dunno:

Just kidding....of course cause we aim to please here.

Can you give more information? Size of tank, how long it's been set up., how quickly did you add fish.....etc.

Hi commander sound's like you've got a real drama what have you got left in the tank?. Keep doing the water changes and hopefully you can get on top of the prob.

How about editing your post, pm me and i will remove this paragraph and offer a frank and harsh opinion what your mum seems to plan for your tank and then show your mum my advice and fingers crossed she might get message, pretty sneaky but hey i might cure your probs.

David :fish:

ps sorry I implied you were jerking us around previously it just that it looked that way sorry.

ugh :X if she doesn't give a rats a**, then just get a simple Goldie bowl and move your remaining fish (not the Goldies, sadly they'd overstock a tiny bowl) and just keep medicating and doing water changes. let the big tank cycle.

and, get your mother on here. i'd like to have a few words with her. i betcha this fourteen year old knows how to better care for ANYTHING cute-and-fuzzy/slimy/scaley/feathery better than she does! fifteen Goldies wouldn't be able to turn around in a 10g after a few months! :<

My mom has absolutely no clue how to use a computer.

If only my dad was still here. Stupid Iraqi war. I can't wait till he is done with his job over there.

a tank divider would do nothing, tank dividers are made so water can still pass through them, thus the disease would still be able to spread.

the only thing i can suggest is getting a temporary bowl, or returning them to the store until you're done cycling.

O.k, I will do what I can.

pop eye isn't contagiouse is it? I am gonna do the temperory bowl thing. I want to put the pop eye goldfish in the bowl, therefore, I can put the meds in and the medication would be concentrated towards the fish. HE CAN'T AVOID THE MEDS AND I CAN FINALLY GIVE IT AWAY!!!!!! ALL THIS WILL BE OVER!!!!! HE HE HE HE!!! OVER!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAA!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHH!!!!!!!!

ok do you really want to keep the goldfish? thats my question..cuz if you're only keeping them cuz your mom won't let you give them away I may have a few suggestions. hehehe from my knowledge of popeye..all you really need to do is treat a bacterial infetion and start keeping your tank cleaner. I've only ever had popeye once..I did a full water change..I detailed that in another post regarding the redwater thing. And a small amount of salt(epsom salt) about 1tsp per gallon..Now I'm not sure about goldfish and salt water, but the full water change is a good idea. Popeye isn't actually a contageous disease, its a bacterial infection. Kinda like a pussy sore that a human would get. although it can be a secondary disease. Maybe you should just dump a capfull of bleach in the water and tell your mom they all went belly up

Well, well, well Commanderdoom...you're quite a person, if I must say so myself. Afterall, according to your own words

I am the greatest human being around here

I would have been willing to offer you some advice and help through what is obviously a SERIOUS condition in your tank, as many other good and knowledgable members here have tried to do. But it seems you have everything under control, afterall, you must have plenty of experience and knowledge when it comes to fish keeping since you are effectively

running the show around here

However, there is something that has me a little confused. How can someone who doesn't understand the basics of the nitrogen cycle have

superior knowledge of filters

First of all, exophthalmus...oops sorry

Wuh? Those big phrases confuse me

Popeye, is 99% of the time caused by VERY POOR water quality. Since you say the tank has been set up for 1 year (or 2 years in another post) and your levels are way off the scale, that's evidence that your aquarium maintenance is, if you even maintain it at all, is HORRIBLE. Perhaps if you had payed more attention, you would have noticed the eye/eyes going cloudy DAYS before the eye's started to protrude.

I am still curing the fish. It takes a while.

Besides, popeye should not take this long to clear up, but that's granted the fish are being kept in proper conditions, which in this case they are obviously not.

Why you would go out and purchase the platy's when current fish in the tank are obviously sick is beyond me.

How much did a 5 gallon eclipse hex cost? I want one for my room.

I don't think you are a good candidate for another aquarium. That would just give you more room to put more fish under undue suffering.

Oh yeah, I'm willing to pay you good dollars to come by once a week and manage my tanks. You can start on my 72 gallon Hericthys nicaraguenses biotope breeding species tank, or my 46 gallon Mbuna...or my 35 gal....etc....etc...etc....after all I heard you're the expert

would NOT have the fine aquariums they have right now if it wasn't for me, Commanderdoom21 the first

Just watch your hands with the 10" male Nic, or the 7" male pseudo. zebra chilumba.

And while your here, that will give me plenty of time to

worship me

You see, I really never knew about treating the aquarium and all that stuff. Now that I have this knowledge, I am TRYING to treat the tank. Today, I am going to petsmart to get a temperory tank to put the fish in, then I will complete the process of cleaning out the whole aquarium. Gravel and everything.

Fine, I admit, I am not the greatest human being ever and I am not running the show around here.

Also, I didn't say I intended to get a 5 gallon hex anytime soon. I was just curiouse about the price.

The water conditions WILL improve. I promise. Then I can treat the one with pop eye. Trust me, everything in the aquarium will be changing. the gravel is being replaced, all the water is going. I am basically starting up a whole new aquarium and I am going to cycle it before I put the fish in.

Trust me, I won't screw up like I did last time.

Good on you mate, wish you all the best, keep us informed on how its going :) If u get stuck just yell (the ancient but wise wrinklies on this site will still help you, won't you Mogo :p )

K I think its time for me to start looking for cover ;)
