hi all
I have an AVI video that I need to upload somewhere
photobucket won't accept it neither will google video.

I think the problem is it is a 222mb AVI file
anyone know how to convert it to a file that photobucket
accepts or a free host that will accept a large avi file?

I don't do youtube; thanks anyway

Wolf..

You need to google for a converter tool. AVI is not great for using on the internet, where you need to use a more compressed version, i.e. comparable quality with less filesize/ bit-rate, although quality is sometimes comprimised.

Problem is, a lot of these transcoders want you to pay some money, so i am having a quick look for a free easy to use one for you. If you convert it to MPEG of some sort, this should help..

Cheers

Do you use limewire or other p2p sites?

i have just looked on limewire for you and there are loads of programs for coverting AVI's and obviously if dowloaded from there the cost = 0

.FLV is the main format for add video to webstie or blog . and u can google "wondershare video to flash encoder" * u will find alot of tips about flash video . good luck !

Mozilla Firefox can be used to convert videos to mpg or wmv but you have to download firefox and then a converter, (but its free).

Depends whether you want to change the actual video file or the container file as they can be in different formats. The easy way to change the container file is just to change the extension this doesn't convert the video but it does change the container file which can fool some programs and let you upload.
