Heya all.

I recently added 4 more assassins to my lone snail to help keep my pink ramshorn h=numbers a little more in check (as they seem to have a taste for java ferns of all things!).

Anyway, I run my tank at 24'C and after a bit more reading around, now realise that any legs they might lay (if I have both sexes) will not hatch at this temp.

However, If I wanted to breed a few, could I remove these eggs into a 17L heated to higher temps to grown them on and then reintroduce them to the main aquarium?

Also, have any of experienced anything to contradict this (i.e. breeding at lower temps).

Cheers!

That's 75 F. and, while I don't keep my tanks that warm, I do have some Assassin babies. I don't get many but that might also be because there is no longer an excess of pest snails in them.

I'll have to pay more attention to this in the future. :)
