Hello guys.
Thank you for keeping up this great forum.

I bought an old ASKOLL Pure M 44L to start a new project (only my second fish tank).
The idea is to start a planted aquarium with CO2.

On this old ASKOLL PURE the inlet filter begins to near to the ground, not leaving plenty of space for landscaping.
I was looking to buy the new filter because the pipe lays a little higher up or buy Dennerle Scapers Flow.

Original ASKOLL filter
+VE The water flow will be good because the water will flow from left to right in the full length of the aquarium
-VE The pipe can be to low and stay in the way of the aquascaping.

Dennerle Scapers Flow
+VE looks clean and less tubing inside the fish tank.
-VE The water flow may not be as good because the input and output are so close.

Any ideas or suggestions?
I do not have space for a canninster filter and would not use an internal filter for aesthetic reasons.

Hmm, the intake pipe position is pretty normal and you can hide this with tall plants, this would not effect the filter perfomance too much at all.

But if you do not like the intake being that low, perhaps you can modify the pipe, by cutting the pipe shorter for example, so it sits higher up in the tank to your satisfaction.

But that dennerele filter looks pretty good though, kind of a HOB cannister but with lily pipe type outlet.

Hello
Thank you for the comment,
My eventual problem is if i make the ground to high on the back, but cutting to fit my needs may be the best option.

Thanks

It's certainly one option you can easily do.

Also certainly the cheapest option ;)

Would add all substrate, decor and plants first to your satisfaction THEN deal with the intake pipe, that way you know exactly how much pipe to take off if you need to.
