Asda Play Sand

Has anyone had experience of ASDA play sand? Is it on par with the much revered Argos version?

Thinking of picking some up with my shop tonight out of convenience.

I can't imagine there will be any difference at all. Whether it be Argos, Homebase, ASDA....etc, etc. Just give it a good wash before use.

Not used asda but i have Argos,tesco and homebase. As long as they are childrens play sand i assume there ok but i doubt their from the same place as the sand is different colours depending where they came from. E.g my 350L tank is argos and very light colour but my shrimp tank the sand is very dark from tescos

I have asda play sand in my tank i am currently cycling, i havent had any experience with the others. The asda stuff is quite light but i was really pleased with how it looks in my jewel vision. I ended up using 2bags to get a good covering and just followed the instructions on here to clean it, took about 20 mins per bag to clean.

I have seen that homebase now do the same play sand as argos. Is Asdas in a different packaging than the Argos one?

Just bought some, it came in its own asda branded bags. looks quite a light colour and cost £2.60 a bag so cant complain. hopefully it will wash ok.

What mass of sand do you get for £2.60?

10Kg i believe it was. i bought 2 so should be about right for roma 125l. not got round to cleaning it yet.

£2.99 for 15 kilo's at Argos. I used about a bag and a half in my 125, so your two smaller bags should be enough too! Get some pics up! Whats your plan for it?

Argos sounds much better value surprisingly.

I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it yet, what would you suggest? Pics will defo displayed when done.
