As promised, my best Discus

Wow :hyper: , very beautiful colour :*) :wub: :* ! At first I thought it's a salt water fish by looking at the colour! I have so much to learn on fishies!! *Just wanna get one now* but don't think my lfs will have these tho......
 
wow dolphin.....I've read a lot about keeping discus, I guess with all of my reading I never saw a pic....simply gorgeous, I love the little tiny mouth :wub: , I also nominate for FOTM (if anybodies brave enough to compete :lol: )

DG - She is 6" nose to tail, a nother couple of inches until full size.

Tanked - Gwynnbrook, has a good reputation.

Not sure what the the type is, Though it is a red turq. She came from the far east.
I am not going to post how much I paid for them, as most people do not spend the ammount of money, I paid, on the tanks never mind the fish.
 
I need to wait a bit. but will be getting 2 or 3 of them from the link you provided. I want my tank stable for at least a year before I even think of adding such magnificent fish. thanks again for the info dolphin.

A word of caution. If you are going to buy discus, and spend alot of money, (I have spent over £240 for a pair, thats about $380 USD. There you got it out of me) . I find it best to buy fish that you can see. i.e. visit the hatchery (if it is close). I have travled upto 100 miles to find good fish. The cost of traveling is worth it.

You do not have to wait a year for a tank to mature, a few months will do. Discus are becoming more and more hardier. If these are you first discus. buy the more common colour varities. They are cheeper, and tend to be easier to breed.
