Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has had a cat with a blood clot? My little girl, Sooty, was fine one minute, and paralised in the back legs the next. We took her to the vet on Saturday night, because of the sudden nature of the event & lack of detectable pulse in one of her rear legs, we were told that its most likely a blood clot, with not very good long term prognosis. They are doing a radiograph on her right now to confirm whats happened.

Strange thing is, she didnt even have a heart murmur, and the blood clots are almost always caused by heart disease. She does fit the age & breed profile though (4 yrs old & Burmese). Just curious if anyone has had this happen to their pet & how it all turned out? Looking for positives, all the info I have researched so far is all doom & gloom

Sorry not had this in my cats so cant advise.I feel for you with such bad news, but i wish you and pussy cat all the best xx

Well, miracles do happen!

Took my kitty home on Monday, did a whole lot of reiki, physio, massage & praying, in between doses of meds & she's doing really well :). Whatever blockage she had in her arteries seems to have gone, she still has a bit of a limp but at least she won't loose her leg. Woohoo! :)
