I am considering buying an Arrowhead Puffer and had a few questions. Is it possible to keep it in a 20g long (3'x1')? My LFS (If you can call petsmart one) doesn't have any tanks between 20g and 55g. I don't want a single 6" fish that hides all the time in a 55g. The next closest real LFS is over an hour away and my mom doesn't go out that way very much. Also, what would be a suitable filter? I don't have very much experience with messy fish in this small of a tank. I was looking to spend under $100 for a filter but could go higher.

EDIT: Would it be possible to house 2 Arrowheads in a 55 if a 20g long isn't big enough?

I'd stick with one in a 20 long for now. Sandy substrate, lots of meaty foods.

As for a filter, I'd get an external , the bigger capacity the better.

I kept one of these for a short time a few years back in a 20gl. Don't expect it to move much, especially when you are around. I fed mine live shrimp, but never got around to switching it off of live foods as I had to take the tank down. :/

Good luck! :good:
