LOL... I remember there was a Fins Fur and Feathers when I lived in Buffalo, NY.
Sorry, off the topic, i know.

Haha @ the platy eating incident. Mmmmm... platies
If you ask nicely in Maidenhead Aquatics they can sometimes order things in for you especially.

What type of Arowana are you looking for and how big is your tank? Some types of arowana are rarer then others.

Wildwoods in Enfield (north London) just got about 7 silver arowana's in, going for 45 pies each.... :)

i would like a silver one ive got a 6,2,2 tank and it can go in there if i can move my other fish in to another

A 6x2x2 will not be large enough to house an adult silver arowana, they can easily reach 30 inches or more in captivity and require a tank with a foot print of at least 8x3 eventually.

If you are still looking mate I know of a couple of shops over here that have a couple of young Arowana in, I know you said you didnt want to travel to far but its about an hours drive across the A66.

Let me know if your interested and I will give you details & phone numbers. :D

it's no good having any type of young arowana, there all going to get to the same size.

what was the species you saw?
