Arnie Doesn't Look Well!!

i agree about the bettafix bein crap. i used the entire damn bottle ( over a long time of course not all at once lol) and it did not make a bit of difference. it smells the same as melafix but melafix actually does something and bettafix doesnt.

Is there really a shortage of pet fish is other countries? Thats really odd. If someone asks for something they cant find ill try to find it the next time I go to the LPS. ;)

You can get most pet fish over here (UK), but there just seems to be a much smaller variety of bettas over here! In pet shops you can find maybe two or three VT's, and in some fish stores (Like my LFS) they'll do a wider variety of VT's and maybe a couple of CT's but ive never seen any other tail types, and the CT's are usually gone in a couple of hours.

Ive also noticed that fish seem to be more expensive over here. At my LFS bettas cost £7 i think, i got Arnie, my purple betta from a different place but still paid £5. Ive never seen them any cheaper.
Even the 'Pets at Home' (kinda like petsmart) bettas are £5, and they're usually really bad quality, with ripped fins and stuff... I guess we just dont have as many breeders in the UK...

well most pet store chains get their bettas from thailand if im not mistaken.
is £5 = 10 dollars? if so, thats expensive!
most of the time you only see vts and cts in stores here. i saw a hm once and ive seen a few deltas. i think thats pretty much the same everywhere.

Yeah $10 sounds about right. i know the betta i have now was imported from Thailand. It must be really stressful for them being sent over from Thailand, then stuck in a pet shop for however long, then being sent somewhere else in a little bag!!! We need more betta breeders!!!!!!

I asked if i could order a hm at my lfs and they said they were almost impossible to get and would cost a LOT... annoying!!

hopes arnie gets better  keep us posted :)

p.s. jac you must be tired of repeating the same line (not to be confused with a bottole of poo known as bettaFIX) :D
just want to make sure people dont make the same mistakes i did when i started out.
i htought- "its called bettaFIX-i guess it will fix my broken bettas. and gosh, its only 2 dollars!"
i should have looked at the price and known it was crap...

bettafix either never worked for me or it actually killed my fish. :(
Im on your side jac! *kicks all bettafix medicines into the garbage and and makes sure all of it is destroyed*
