Are these severums?

Dwarfs your sev looks huge  And it does all come down to personality, especially with larger cichlids...Hopefully you got yourself some peaceful ones.

Really?, he's only 7" :p

Fish can't be expected to act as they should, Uarus are known to be skittish when kept alone, mine isn't skittish, even with my ever more aggressive severum in the tank ;) My sev gets mad when other fish take the food that he looks at, because as of lately he has completely claimed the tank as his, even with an Uaru and Geo that are near his size

Fishy411 probably got a bad festivum, because they aren't too aggressive from what I've seen and heard of them, and Gill, blue eyes are generally small, and any cichlid will eat a fish that can fit in it's mouth ;)

Also known as Flag Cichlids, or Mesonauta festivus if you want the scientific name.

I've heard that Angel fish are good companions for them.

bringing back bad memories again. long story short. i put 2 angelfish in my 55. festivum shreds fins almost down to nothing within 5 minutes. i swear to god this thing would probly get in a liplock fight with a red devil 3 times its size.

Maybe there were breeding? Or you had some super grumpy cichlids.

That or just a mean SOB.... I find alot of Bio's on fish are biased ones because the author has a "peaceful" cichlid and writes his experience from that. It just like getting one of those Kinder surprise eggs...you might get a cool spaceship or a crappy sticker...
