Can any one confirm what this is? Thank you! It's not quite like the little bladder snails

I've got those in my shrimp tank, and I've always assumed they were fresh water limpets. They don't seem to do any harm, just sit there making the tank look like it's got a rash. They are also impossible to remove with a siphon tube, unlike snails. It is possibly to wipe them off with a sponge, and pull the sponge up the glass and off the top, but they come back.
