Knowing nothing really about Cichlids, other than they can be aggressive, is there a breed that would work with my community tank as shown in my sig, I would like to get a pair of non-aggressive cichilds if thats possible

Cheers

Kribs are reasonably peaceful and colourful, but I would recommend Apistos but they are New World Cichlid Forum.

I would suggest rams or kribs depending on your tank size. I believe a pair of either require a 20 us gallon long asa minimum.

Have a look at the Blue Ram, Bolivian Ram, Kribs and any Apistos on the internet and tell us what you think. :) And no Apistos are not dear, some Apisto species reach up to 150 pounds, others like Hongsloi, Panduro and Cacatuoides are roughly the same price as Kribs and Rams, maybe 1 or 2 pounds more.

Yeah my favourite Apisto, Panduro or Apistogrammas Nijsseni, I am going to purchase a harem of those and a harem of Hongslois soon.

Are Apistogrammas Nijsseni expensive (other half will kill me if it is lol) going over to maidenhead aquactics tomorrow!

No, max of 8.50 per pair but that is on the expensive side, I would buy a harem though, one male two females. Good Luck.

I'm so envious you are getting all the fish I am intending on getting before me.

I know, I don't suppose you were thinking of getting some Rummy Nosed Tetras and Marble Hacthets :shifty: .

LOL I have to say no!!

These will be the last purchase for a while I think!!!

I hope maidenhead aquatics have some in stock

Good, something different , Once I have my shoal of Rummys, two more Marbled Hatchets, more plants, two harems of Apistos and the you know what. My South American tank will be complete and I can enjoy it..............dreaming............................... :zz
