Are my Golden Gourami's Sick?

I purchased a set of 5 golden gourami's a few months ago. Over the last six weeks, their skin seems to becoming darker..and I've become concerned they have fungus or some other disease... Can someone diagnose?

I've tried to move them to a seperate tank w/ high salt and medicine for a week at a time, but it doesn't seem to help. Are they just stressed?

Looks much like my golden gourami. Perhaps their colours darken as they mature. If it was fungus you would know and it would be pretty easy to diagnose.

thats very normal for them to get darker. mine get very dark at times, and then lighter.

But with mine, when they get angery they get darker and chase all my brothers fish, or eacother. so maybe thats a reason.

I agree with what Cheese Specialist said.

With all the new colored dwarf gouramis on the market these days, the beauty of standard gouramis is often overlooked. The gold gouramis are color variations of the Trichogaster trichopterus along with the blue 3 spot and Opaline gouramis. All are capable of a range of shades and colors, but their beauty is not always apparent When they are getting ready to spawn and showing themselves off to their potential mates, they are incredibly beautiful.

These fish are related to bettas, and the color changes (along with their posture) that wrs describes is the same thing as when a betta "flares."

IMHO gouramis are a very underrated fish!

Like all the others have said....they look mighty fine to me?
Ease up on the treatment mate and enjoy what you have Mine are much the same.getting darker, but if it was fungi you would be able to see it as a cotton like covering

I had no idea the gourami's were capable of such color changes. Very glad to hear they aren't sick...I was getting really worried for awhile....whew!
