Two years is quite old! Average is about 1-1.5 years. :)

It sounds like you will be a great betta mum. :) Good luck!

You're welcome. :)

I have just one... for now. ;) They're addictive, you'll soon learn that for yourself. I have one male called Jeremiah, Jerry for short. I want to get a few females soon and set up my empty 7 gallon as a female community. :shifty:

Hi everyone, I'm pretty new here. I used to have a betta a few years ago. I am only 13 now. And so I am starting to get back into fish now, I have a 10 gallon with a female guppy and 4 fry. And then I have an empty 2.5 gallon, which I was thinking of putting one male betta in. I have researched bettas a LOT!!! But I've heard they are usually very active unless the water is too cold, they don't have enough room, or they are sick. Is this true? Because the other betta I had didn't move hardly at all, and it could have been because he lived in a bowl or because I didn't have a heater for him, but he lived for about 2 years. So my question is basically Are Bettas Very Active?....thanks so much for any answers. :D
Didn't read the whole thread, so I'm just responding here

No they are not lively/active

Those who dispute should relise that mine is in a ten gallon with a few plastic and silk plants plus good watter. They are personal move to see anyone infront of the tank but generally does nothing, minus feeding time which still involves minimal and very slow movement

You might get a less biased answer in Tropical Chit Chat, some of us are afraid of posting with betta fanatics
