Are any algicides safe for plants?

Some type of brown hair type algae is taking over the leaves of my plants. The pleco can't seem to get it off. Any Ideas?

An amano shrimp or a red cherry shrimp will probably eat it... I think Siamese Algae Eaters will too... not sure.

I believe this stuff is safe for plants, though it may starve them a little temporarily.

I have used this and it works extreamly well for 8 types of algea

eSHa Protalon-707® Anti-algea Treatment
a pack cost me £6.99 and there is enough to treat 65gallons
You need to remove any active carbon whilst treating (1 week course)
It is in my opinion the only treatment that really does work.
