Thanks, I'll get those wafers for omnivoirs as soon as I can. Does anyone know if petsmart has them? I'm pretty sure Wallmart doesn't, but I'll make sure next time I go.
Yes, PetSmart has both usually. I like Hikari best.
The first key to fish food is to determine if the fish is:
1 Herbavore: eats mostly greens and should not eat much meat.
2. Omnivore: eats meat and greens. Usually primarily a meat eater, but requires greens to keep healthy
3. Carnivore: eats almost exclusively meat.
Next there are some differences in fish needs by family, such as goldfish, Bettas, Cichlids, etc. Bottom feeders seem to have some individual needs by family. But they also do better, I think with a food that falls to the bottom and stays in place. I am not a fish dietician so I just have to trust the guys that formulate the foods for the fish. So I pick the brands that seem to do well and have a good rep and use the foods they prepare for the individual fish family or species. Then I also get advice from the guys in the know.
